Philanthropy West Virginia is the statewide professional association of private, family, corporate (giving programs/foundations), community and public foundations.
Renamed on January 2014, our new name represents our constant commitment to EXCELLENCE and IMPACT in supporting WV’s philanthropic community. This new name continues our same commitment and growing impact in serving West Virginia’s private, family, corporate, community and public grant-making foundations, giving programs and private philanthropists.
We are committed to our mission of “Strengthening Philanthropy in the Mountain State.”
Philanthropy West Virginia represents the diversity of grant-making institutions based in and serving West Virginia. From the southern coalfields to the steel mills of the Northern Panhandle from the Potomac River to the Ohio River Valley, Philanthropy West Virginia through its membership serves all fifty-five counties in West Virginia and the neighboring communities of surrounding states.
Founded in 1993, Philanthropy West Virginia is a leading voice and premier resource for philanthropy in the Mountain State.
